The Company of Roving Eccentrica

The magical extra ingredient of any Henley Festival, the Roving Company is once again peopled by a collection of eccentrics, dare devils and absurdists.

Basso Doble

Basso Doble

Basso Doble is a charming Walking Act of a German-Swiss duo, created by Eva-Maria Michel.

A musician and his double-bass, walking like a dog - and it is a pretty nosy one - are showing up and everybody is wondering who leads who.

The musician Doblonski seems to look for his orchestra while "Bassi" gets in contact to people.

Basso Doble is an amusement for all.

Big Rory

Big Rory and Occhie

The nine foot loveable Scottish rascal is out for a walk with his wayward mongrel.

There's total confusion as the amorous mutt careers around, with Rory in hot pursuit, trying to contain the chaos.

CocoLoco

CocoLoco

Cocoloco is a performance company specialising in dramatic and comical street actions based on eccentric or stereotypic characterization. They believe in the possibility that visual art and entertainment can join in harmony in most public situations, in a manner that can be understood by all ages and nationalities.

They have been described variously as charming, eye-catching, daring, bizarre, idiosyncratic and hysterically funny.

Mr Lucky's Party

Mr Lucky's Party

During a tea party a couple begin a celebration and party hats, even a cake, appear, however with each course the weather worsens, the downpour increases and their mood blackens.

Performed to an evocative soundtrack with no text, this show is meticulous to character and detail. In typical Avanti style it concludes with a bizarre, spectacular and unexpected twist.

Mystic Monty

Mystic Monty - ass-trologist to the Stars

It should surprise no one that the ancient art of astrology with all its wonderful myths and folklore has previously held little to interest the giant brains of Britain's scientists who are the best in the world for a fact. But now four of our leading mad inventors have come up with a genuine fortune telling machine!

The boffins from the advanced doodling department at Avanti Display H.Q. have devised a wonderful apparatus, which may truly be said to revolutionise the science of superstition. 'We have successfully interfaced the DNA of a subject with the previously ignored digestive powers of a mechanical Equus africanus asinus', they say. Yes that is the secret of the machines almost uncanny powers. But what of its practical applications, you ask. Well the sky's the limit, sonny, but get this: imagine a proper scientific gizmo, certified by top Profs that can actually predict the future. Impossible you cry. Igor, remove the screen! You shall see for yourselves!

Sid Bowfin

Sid Bowfin

Sid Bowfin achieved international fame with the group Pluck, which he founded in 2002. With his new solo show, Sid's taken his unique combination of madcap comedy and superb musicianship even further. Sid and his audience compete, argue, ridicule and seduce their way through hugely popular works from across the centuries, challenging the usual decorum of the classical performance with Sid performing comedic physical feats and dangerous antics along the way.

Audiences will enjoy Mozart's one-legged Rondo, Vivaldi's secret agent Winter, be Brahms's Hungarian dancers and Rossini's choir of Barbers...

Sophie Stuff

Sophie Stuff - No Woman is an Island

This tiny tropical paradise drifts through the sea of people. Lazing on the golden sand under the shade of a palm, a little lady on her uke serenades the dashing sailors as they pass and charms the fish out of the water. She brings sunshine, laughter and whimsy to all she meets.

Swim over for a song or two, enjoy her stories - but watch out for the crabs!

The Art Tart

The Art Tart

The Art Tart is an unexpectedly alluring cocktail of Beryl Cooke, Rolf Harris, Marilyn Monroe and a flagon of Dave's leopard skin scrumpy.

The Miniscule of Sound

The Miniscule of Sound

The Miniscule of Sound

The Miniscule of Sound have performed their "World's Smallest Nightclub" since its inception in August 1998.

The miniature nightclub, measuring 8ft long x 4ft wide with a dance floor of just 2sq.m, was officially recognised in 2000 by Guinness World Records as the World's Smallest Nightclub. In 2001 it was featured on the BBC's Record Breakers Show, filmed at the Henley Festival.

The popular festival sideshow has now been performed at several international events, including Glastonbury Festival, Fuji Rock Festival, the 'Big Day Out' in Australia and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It has appeared at many other public and private events from London, Paris and Dublin, to Barcelona, Bucharest and Beijing.

The Strong Lady Show

The Strong Lady Show

Born with the grace of her mother and the strength of her father, Betty Brawn is no ordinary lady ... She is known as The Strongest Lady Alive!

You will be amazed as this delicate Lady tears thick books in half, bends solid metal, lifts grown men into the air as though they were feathers and a world of wonders in between. This elegant array of exciting feats of strength will make you laugh, gasp & smile in wonderment!

Wet Picnic

Wet Picnic

Wet Picnic's Tea Ladies sweep through the streets to supply an explosive and surreal teatime for everyone to enjoy!

Your taste buds will be tingling at the sight of this eccentric ensemble who are as fabulous and fruity as the cake they eat.
